What is mental performance coaching?
add
Mental performance coaching trains the mind the way a strength coach trains the body. Coach Jason Mays helps athletes, coaches, teams, and executives build the daily standards, identity work, and toughness reps that decide who performs when the pressure is on. It is skill-building for the mind, not motivation.
Is this therapy or counseling?
add
No. Mental performance coaching is not therapy, counseling, or clinical mental-health treatment. It is forward-looking performance training focused on mindset, standards, and consistency. If clinical support is needed, Coach Mays will help point you toward the right professional.
How much does mental performance coaching cost?
add
One-on-one coaching starts at $200/month for Individual Performance, $350/month for Championship Mindset Mastery, and $1,250/month for Executive Elite. Team programs run $600 to $800/month by level, with 6-month and annual options. The Mentally Tough Playbook is $39.99. Every engagement starts with a free 20-minute call.
Who does Coach Mays work with?
add
Coach Jason Mays works with high school and college athletes, professional athletes, coaches and staffs, full teams and programs, and executives and sales teams. The Cognitecture system adapts to each, but the standard is the same: train the mind on purpose.
Is coaching done in person or remotely?
add
Both. One-on-one coaching is delivered remotely by video or phone so you can train from anywhere, with daily accountability between sessions. Team programs and keynotes are available in person and virtually. Coach Mays travels for on-site team work and speaking.
What's the difference between the Playbook, the Blueprint, and 1:1 coaching?
add
The Mentally Tough Playbook ($39.99) is the framework in your hands to read and apply on your own. Building a Culture of Champions, The Blueprint is the video course that walks a coach through installing the system in a program. One-on-one and team coaching is the system run with you directly, with a standard held and reviewed every day.
How long until I see results, and what's the time commitment?
add
The work is daily, but it's light: a standard you hold one day at a time, supported by two to three 45-minute sessions a month and accountability in between. Most clients feel a difference in how they handle pressure within the first few weeks, because the reset is something you start using immediately.
Do you work with whole teams and businesses, not just individuals?
add
Yes. Team programs install a Culture of Champions across an entire roster or organization, including staff training, half-day sessions, a copy of the Playbook for every member, and staff access to the Blueprint. Business and sales teams add a corporate speaking engagement. Pricing scales by level and runs season-long or year-round.
What does "rooted in faith" mean for the coaching?
add
Coach Mays coaches from the belief that you compete from identity, not anxiety, and that a steady foundation beats chasing the scoreboard. Faith shapes the why behind the work. The performance tools, standards, and frameworks are useful to anyone, and clients of any background are welcome.
